Best Free Tetris Game

Introduction

Searching for a decent Tetris clone with great gameplay and pretty graphics? Well, there are hundreds of Tetris clones out there but only very few have fun gameplay and good graphics.

Among dozens of Tetris clones that I played, Tetra Blocks and Quadra are the best I have found yet. And there's also a very fine game called DUOtris available which is strictly not a Tetris game but a puzzle game in the vein of Columns. It involves blocks with some similar gameplay and is so good that it is worthy to be mentioned here as well.

Honorable Mentions

Besides the games that are rated above, there are also other high quality Tetris games available and worth trying out.

  • TETRIS by Electronic Arts is a popular Tetris game available free for Android, which keeps track of your progress and allows you to compete with friends on social media network.

  • TETRIS Blitz is also one of the popular games by Electronic Arts but it is available for both Android and iPhone or iPad devices for free, which lets you race against the clock in a two-minute blitz to clear lines and compete against other players in time-limited tournaments.

  • Quinn is a puzzle game similar to Tetris and it runs in Mac OS X. It has no Windows port yet.

  • LTris as a Tetris clone with three game modes, Classic and Multiplayer modes for challenging and a Demo mode for watching computer playing. It is designed for Linux and has ported to Windows.

Quadra was a good multiplayer game, but it doesn't have players anymore. All of the best Quadra players have switched to Cultris 2. It's the most popular multiplayer Tetris clone, featuring very fast gameplay and combos.
From 20 to even 100 players every day in lobby, while the Free For All room - the most popular one - can have, for example, 25 people (number is limited only by the players' PC's being able to keep up) playing at the same time!
Good graphics and music. It also includes a few gamemodes for people only getting the hang of multiplayer.
